The new groupon now running is for NEW customers only. Your first class must begin before July 15. You will have 45 days from your first class to attend the 5 class series. Only one groupon per child/individual allowed. All ages allowed to use the deal. Its good for Mini-gym through adult classes. Please call or email with questions.

San Diego Meet Report

Santa Cruz Sports Central boys and girls competitive teams performed beautifully last weekend in not-so-sunny Southern California. They competed in the 2012 San Diego Classic, hosted by Poway Gymnastics at the San Diego Town and Country Hotel and Conference Center.

The meet in San Diego marks both the the end of last year’s season (girls compulsory) the beginning of this year’s season (boys compulsory and optional and girls optional). For a complete list of San Diego Classic meet results, visit MeetScoresOnline.

Congratulations for the girls, most of whom improved their all around scores, showing that their gymnastics has improved tremendously since their last meet.

As for the Julie (our resident level 9 – optional) and the boys, it was a fantastic beginning of the year! New levels, new routines, tough competition. Julie showed her true colors, competing all around after a week of fighting the stomach flu. She had a number of new skills in her routines and a brand-spanking new floor routine. It was awesome! Congratulations, Julie!

In his first meet as an all around Level 5, Lukas did a great job in all his routines. He scored a 53.4 AA in the tough 9-year-old division.

Trevor, now a “seasoned veteran” level 5 (second year) improved last year’s all around score by a hand-full of points and earned himself a 5th Place All Around medal (and a couple others in individual events too). Way to bring home the hardware, bud!

Will and Zac both competed for the first time as optional gymnasts. This is a HUGE step in their careers and they are stepping up their games and facing the challenge with cool heads hard work. And it is paying off. Their gymnastics in San Diego was clean and elegant. Not only have they improved their own skills tremendously since last year, they also showed that Santa Cruz Sports Central is bringing tough competition to regional and national arena.

Learn to move like a gymnast or just look like one! This class for 12 yr olds – Adults is designed to get you movin’ and flippin’ into shape utilizing the fundamentals of gymnastics: Strength; Agility; Power; Flexibility; and FUN!

Classes are from 6pm-7:30pm:

Monday – Thursday

Drop-in= $12; 1 X per week=$40/month and Special UNLIMITED pricing: $75/month

Spooktacular Halloween at Capitola Mall

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s
Spooktacular Halloween at Capitola Mall.

The event was huge success, with hundreds of children going through the beautiful obstacle course we had setup near the food court.

New classes taught by Reno Nims, from UCSC Parkour, are HAPPENING NOW.

Beginning/Introductory Classes for 12 yr olds and older are Fridays from 6:00-7:30pm.

Cost is $12/drop in. $40/month or combine with the Flip-n-Fun Adult/Teen gymnastics classes for $75/month….Thats 1.5 hour classes M-F!! What a deal.

SCSC competitive team members train and play hard in and out of the gym. Some performed in Tandy Beal’s Mixed Nutz! The nutcracker Re-Mixed (as Gingersnaps). Also in Mixed Nutz! were the young and talented actors from WEST Performing Arts. We had a cast party at the gym (shown in the second half of this video).

This year, Tandy Beal’s Mixed Nutz! (the Nutcracker Remixed) performed to sold out houses at UCSC Mainstage. Santa Cruz Sports Central gymnasts graced the audiences (over 5,000 throughout the run of the show) with THEIR fantastic performances as Ginger Snaps.
